3 Tips for Living Life to the Fullest Each Day

Ever since I was a kid, my mother always told me that there was rarely a time I was not smiling. (Even when my 3-year-old brother threw my entire second birthday cake on me.) I do my best to live life to the fullest everyday.

That doesn't mean I enjoy everything that happens to me each day, and it doesn't mean each day is sunshine and rainbows. I've experienced car accidents complete with plastic surgery at age 10 to remove scars, multiple knee surgeries for sports injuries, deaths in the family, people getting ill, financial struggles, you get the point. Bad things will happen!

It is how we choose to view life that dictates what kind of life we live. Living life to the fullest EVERY DAY is what matters most. It doesn't have to be some extra ordinary feat or monumental achievement that defines living life to fullest.

For instance, one thing that helps me is a daily checklist. If I laughed, smiled, breathed and cried in a day I am living life to the fullest because if you laugh, smile, breath and cry in the same day, you just had one heck of a day!

Here are 3 quick tips for living life to the fullest each day:

1. Make a positive difference in someone else's life

I do my best each day to make a positive difference in someone's life. It could be through having great conversations with people I work with, or something as simple as asking "How are you?" to the pharmacy clerk. As Maya Angelou said:

People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

By doing one random act of kindness each day for someone else, you will experience life differently; more fully.

2. Do something you enjoy each day

I do something that I enjoy every day. I love to work out. So I make sure I do some physical activity everyday. It doesn't have to be working out. It could be taking a walk, reading a book or hanging out with friends.

When you do something you enjoy doing each day, you relieve tension and stress that has built up throughout the day.

3. Challenge yourself daily

Challenge yourself everyday. Do something different. Sometimes think what you would normally do in a situation and do the exact opposite. Say YES more. Some nights I get into bed tired, bruised, scrapped up and mentally exhausted but I think, "WOW, what a day!"

I once heard someone say, "Everybody dies but only few live." Live everyday like it was your last, and you will definitely live your life to the fullest.
