Purdue University Student Earns Scholarship for Sales Performance

Summer 2012 #30 Vector Marketing All-American Scholarship Winner, Matthew Vale

Wilmington, DE (December 5th, 2012) - Matthew Vale, of St. Charles, Illinois has received an All-American Scholarship for his outstanding sales achievement with Vector Marketing, the company that sells CUTCO® Cutlery. With more than 40,000 sales representatives, Vale placed #30 nationwide for the most recent campaign. He began selling CUTCO® in June 2012 after an assistant tennis coaching job didn’t materialize. Vale is a branch manager candidate for the summer of 2013.

The Vector Marketing All-American scholarship program salutes those students who have excelled in their roles as sales representatives, while maintaining the demanding life of a college student. Each year, Vector recognizes its top 100 sales representatives, during three separate scholarship competitions.

Vale is a sophomore at Purdue University studying agricultural and biological engineering. He received an award for having the highest “push-week” sales in the region just two weeks after beginning with Vector.

“Winning an All-American Scholarship during my first campaign with the company is a huge honor because I know a lot of Vector/CUTCO greats have received this award as well. At a time when it was extremely difficult to find work, Vector gave me a shot – and I ended up selling $40,000 worth of CUTCO® for the summer,” says Vale.
