Wilmington, DE (February 25, 2013) – Ian Conners, of Brunswick, Maine, has received an All-American Scholarship for his outstanding sales achievement with Vector Marketing, the company that sells Cutco Cutlery. With more than 40,000 sales representatives, Conners ranked #15 for the most recent campaign. This is the first time he has won a scholarship since beginning with the company in 2008.
The Vector Marketing All-American scholarship program salutes those students who have excelled in their roles as sales representatives, while maintaining the demanding life of a college student. Each year, Vector recognizes its top 100 sales representatives, during three separate scholarship competitions.
Conners is a senior aerospace engineering major and jazz studies minor at George Washington University (GW) in Washington, DC. In addition to his sales achievements, Conners has held many management positions with the company including working as an assistant manager in four offices, a summer branch manager, a sales manager and a pilot office sales manager. Currently, he is a Cutco Sales Professional (CSP) candidate. The CSP distinction is reserved only for the most serious representatives who have made a career out of selling Cutco Cutlery.
Outside of Vector, Conners and his teammates on the GW’s sailboat racing team susccessfully lobbied for and transitioned the team from the campus’s largest student-run team to the school’s 23rd varsity sport. He has been racing sailboats competitively for more than ten years.
“I’ve worked hard to get where I am today and winning this scholarship is great recognition for my efforts. Vector has changed my life. It was the first time I was surrounded by people who truly believed they could make positive changes to their lives. I now have a constant drive for growth and improvement which has helped in every aspect of my life,” says Conners.
