In training, a Vector Marketing manager will review the fundamentals of Cutco, introduce the product's features and benefits, and teach reps how to complete a Cutco sales demonstration, which is based on the principles of a sales cycle. Following the same steps taught at the college business courses, representatives learn to build rapport, identify needs, offer solutions, answer objections, and complete a sale. They practice listening skills and interpersonal communication throughout the presentation, and learn to become comfortable with many different types of people.
Continuous reinforcement of the basics and ongoing encouragement are a fundamental part of Vector Marketing's program. Representatives are expected to touch base with the office by phone on a regular basis to report on their progress. This call is important to the office because reps work off site. It is even more valuable to the rep because office staff can provide encouragement, assistance, and advice on overcoming obstacles. This kind of support helps reps learn how deal with rejection and respond to "no thank you's" while developing both character and confidence.
Regular conferences provide another opportunity to sharpen skills, such as goal-setting, time management, phone skills, referral generation, and financial management. |
