Branch Manager
A distinctive aspect of Vector Marketing's management development program is the branch manager opportunity. Each summer more than 100 individuals open summer offices in smaller territories. This exceptional entrepreneurial experience allows people who are considering a management career with Vector Marketing the chance to develop the key skills required to lead a sales team and operate a sales office. Primary responsibilities of a branch manager include:
- Conducting a demographic study of potential territories and selecting an office location.
- Building a business plan including budgets, sales projections and recruiting needs.
- Establishing relations with local merchants, including applications for bank accounts and credit lines, and negotiating lease and rental agreements for office space and furniture. The branch manager is personally responsible for the administrative and financial operations of his/her business.
- Devising and implementing advertising strategies and sales promotion programs.
- Interviewing, training, and developing an active sales force of anywhere between 50-150 sales representatives.
- Providing one-on-one professional development for salespeople.
- Conducting staff meetings and speaking publicly for large and small groups on such topics as sales techniques, consumer behavior, closing the sale, time management, communication skills and motivation.
- Working with campus administrators in recruiting efforts.
- Preparing end-of-summer sales and recruiting summary reports.
- Maintaining a standard of professionalism and personal conduct that sets a leadership example for the sales staff.
District Manager
